Marvel’s Agent of Shield returns to our screens on 3 March and whilst I’ve been enjoying Marvel’s Agent Carter, I really cant wait for Colson’s (Clark Gregg) return. The rest of the gang will be a welcome sight too. Whilst we wait for the last week of February to past check out the promo teaser of a conflicted Skye (Chloe Bennet) facing up to the fact that she may not be human.
“My whole life I wanted a family,” Skye says in the promo. “SHIELD took me in, they trained me to be an agent, but there was something inside of me, something I didn’t even know was there. Something possibly Inhuman.
And if it gets out, nothing will ever be the same.”
I think most of us came to terms with the reality that Skye might be Inhuman back in season one but it’s good to finally see her address the issue of her parentage. Looks like Skye is a version of Daisy Johnson, alias Quake in the comics. When last we saw her at the end of the mid season finale Skye had developed some mysterious new powers from the Obelisk. Let’s hope she can get them under control before she becomes a danger to the team.
To help Skye come to terms with her Inhuman heritage ABC have cast Luke Mitchell as an Inhuman named Lincoln. Mitchell played John Young in the CWs The Tomorrow People, a series I really liked that only lasted one season.
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the Inhumans in The Fantastic Four comics. They are a group of genetically enhanced beings created by the Kree alien race. Their powers include increased strength, speed and endurance.
If Skye wants to use her super powers to kick Ward’s ass I’m here for that.
