Disney+ teases new MCU announcements

11 November, 2021 by PashaO
Disney+ Day 12 November

Disney Plus Day, a global celebration of the company’s streaming service, is nearly here. The day-long event will take place on Friday, 12 November, and it promises to provide a number of exclusive announcements, new trailers, appearances from stars and creators and more.

Big day for the MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe dominated the big screen during the Infinity Saga and now it seems set to do the same on the small screen as the franchise expands on Disney+.

The MCU’s expansion on streaming allows the franchise to push side characters to the forefront while also introducing new heroes and villains along the way.

WandaVision spearheaded Phase 4 by showcasing Wanda Maximoff’s transition into the Scarlet Witch, with the show also featuring the debut of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, SWORD, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave us the story of Sam Wilson’s heroic transformation into the next Captain America while teasing the threatening presence of Sharon Carter as the Power Broker. Loki changed the MCU like never before by opening up the concept of the Multiverse, and What If…? made history as Marvel Studios’ first animated series.

Now, it seems that new MCU projects could soon be announced as part of a major Disney+ event.

Ahead of Disney+ Day, an official fact sheet of Marvel Studios’ special showcase confirmed that an “exciting look” at upcoming MCU shows and “new project announcements” will be revealed.

“Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special: The Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special explores the Disney+ series of the MCU—past, present and future. Highlighting the action, emotion, drama and humour from “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” “Loki” and “What If…?”—the special also offers an exciting look at upcoming titles and new project announcements. The Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special launches exclusively on Disney+ November 12.”

Based on this official announcement, it looks like the long list of rumoured and reported spinoffs will soon be confirmed during Disney+ Day. The announcement also confirms that first looks at the MCU’s 2022 line-up for Disney+ will be unveiled.

How to watch Disney+ Day

Disney Plus Day will star on Friday, November 12 at 6AM PDT/ 9AM EDT/ 2PM GMT/ 7:30PM IST.

Marvel fans should set their clocks for 8:45AM PDT/ 11:45AM EDT/ 4:45PM GMT/ 10:15PM IST for more about the MCU’s future.

Unlike Netflix’s Tudum and Warner Bros’ DC Fandome events, Disney Plus Day won’t be available to watch on YouTube or Twitch. Instead, Disney Plus subscribers will be treated to an inaugural fan celebration exclusively on Disney Plus

Fans will be able to stay abreast of each announcement via official social media channels, such as the Disney Plus US, Disney Plus UK, and Disney Plus Hotstar Twitter accounts. You can also follow the official Disney Plus TikTok channel to check out unique short-form content centred around Disney Plus Day.
