The Walking Dead upcoming spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead, had its première during Comic-Con.
Fear the Walking Dead will look at how the zombie apocalypse started in Los Angeles. Executive producer Dave Erickson told the audience that the new series “starts as a family drama and we filter the apocalypse through that.”
The show takes place during the weeks that Walking Dead character Rick Grimes was in a coma in that show’s first episode.
If like me you often wondered what the world looked like at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, this new series will provide the answers. I got all tense just watching the trailer.
The series will première on 23 August at 9pm. The date was confirmed during the Fear the Walking Dead San Diego Comic Con panel.
The first season will consist of six episodes, just like the first season of The Walking Dead. Season two has already been secured. Zombie fans will have wall to wall apocalypse stories as the series will air during The Walking Dead’s off season.
