Haven pilot episode: Welcome to Haven

10 July, 2010 by PashaO
Welcome to Haven

Haven is a supernatural drama series starring Emily Rose as FBI agent Audrey Parker. When she is sent to the small town of Haven to solve the murder of an ex-con, Audrey becomes drawn by supernatural occurrences in the town.

Audrey partner’s up with Nathan Wuornos played by Lucas Bryant. His hard-nosed father is the chief of police and thinks Audrey and Nathan are wasting their time on the case of the week. Audrey does manage to solve the unusual case of a woman, (played by Nicole de Boer), who can control the weather.

Orphaned at a young age, when Audrey is shown a picture of a woman who looks exactly like her, she decides to stick around to see if she can learn more about her connection to this woman. She is also intrigued by the Colorado Kid murder and the fact that this mystery woman was pictured at the scene. Audrey thinks the woman could be her mother.

I really liked the Haven pilot and I’m looking forward to watching how this story unfolds.

Having seen this compared to the X files which I’ve never watched, I’m now tempted to buy some X files DVDs. It’s great to see Eric Balfour (Duke Crocker) as one of the main characters. He was last seen on my screen in 24 and before that Buffy.

Haven is loosely based on the Stephen King mystery novel The Colorado Kid, definitely worth a watch this summer.
